Diamond Beach, black sand at the mouth of Jökulsárlón bay. Icebergs from the Sólheimajökull glacier float down the estuary, heading out to sea; some are brought back onto the beach by the tide and settle on the black sand like diamonds. This morning the fog was in, the waves were strong enough to bring a lot of the icebergs onto the beach. The reflections of the black sand and the white fog in the ice creates one of the most unusual natural sights in Iceland.  Pieces of ice are scattered everywhere, some the size of a plate, others larger than me, reaching up to 10 feet.
